In all the excitement that Raja Hasan has gone on to win his second major reality show title, here’s a small reminder that we have not forgotten Jaswir Kaur’s contribution to the success. It was a team-effort - and to be honest, it was an amazing team.
Weeks ago, when the team of Raja and Jassi […]

“My Friend Ganesha 2” has been doing rounds for couple of reasons from past few months. One – it was the biggest super-hit films of last year which prompted the directors and producers to come up with a Part 2 version of the movie. Two - everyone that saw the movie or listened to the […]
It was a rather boring episode on Ek Se Badhkar Ek – where there was nothing worth watch out for.
Sanchita sang “Main Saat Samundar” from Chameli, while Meenal tried “Nigahen Milaane ko”. After performances from Kushal and Abhishek – happened a “coincidence” that Mandira was talking about from minute one – a tie – […]
Tonight on Ek Se Badhkar Ek – there was one stunning performance by Raja Hasan – which unfortunately would be overshadowed by a besharmiya-like behaviour.
I thought Sajnaa by Raja Hasan was a very well controlled and and wonderful performance.

The Indian film industry has never been short of tragic tales. Of broken hearts, unsung heroes, living life in anonymity once you are past your prime. And at times, the work getting recognized well after death.
Composer Ghulam Mohammed’s story is one such tragic tale. And I have a specific reason of including this story on […]
Finally, My Friend Ganesha 2 got a release – and it does feature Raja Hasan’s song – Yaara Rooth Gaya, Dil Toot Gaya, Sab Toot gaya” in it. The big plus is that Raja Hasan himself is featured in the song, if one goes by the clips we have seen. In the video we have […]

On Ek Se BAdhkar Ek tonight, Raja Hasan put in a 45–second version of Allah Ke Bande in the “Chotta Chakkar” round. The choice of song was very much understandable – as this was supposed to be an unplugged version – and Kailash Kher’s original was pretty similar.
Nice, compact, clean singing. And the visibly nervous Minal […]
Raja Hasan’s on Ek Se Badhkar Ek tonight sang judge Abhijeet’s choice – Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan ho from the film Dhadkan.
Dr.Rahul in his column discusses technicalities about voices, ranges, expressive singing and playback singing as the dangling carrot.
In my last post, I commented about elements of Raja’s figure-skating-gayaki. Let’s move-on now to the all-important voice factor. When Toshi said in Ustaadon ke Ustaad that I am a big fan of Raja bhai’s gayaki, in specifying […]
On tonight’s Ek Se Badhkar Ek episode Raja Hasan had an unusual choice of song - Tune Mujhe Pehchana Nahin from Raju Chacha. Originally a Jatin-Lalit composition sung by Shaan, this was more of a softish song that Raja doesn’t usually attempt. He ended up with 9 points from Abhijeet.
Jaswir on the other hand, put […]
Sanober on tonights’s episode of Ek Se Badhkar Ek says about Raja Hasan: “I read on the Internet. People say – I love your walk, I love your smile. So it’s not just about his singing.”
I wonder where on the whole wild web did she read that.
But if Raja’s fans had their way – they […]
Padma devises a guessing game where she describes a Raja Hasan.com regular and and you have guess who she is talking about. Can you guess the 13 people below?
1. Always calm and collected. Prefers writing in Hindustani, a nice mix of Urdu and Hindi: Is not Indian but knows Indian songs inside and outside. Has […]

Here’s a brief list of movies from the subcontinent that were released in the recent past - but you might have missed them just because they weren’t promoted as blockbusters. Small budget, but high-impact films. Most had a limited multiplex release, but they are now available as DVD releases. So, if you are not going […]
