Happy Birthday Mao - Shobha

I tell you the universe is smiling over me. J I have been mulling on and off over an idea the last few weeks and just haven’t had the time to work on it and then what happens – it’s time to celebrate Mmaoji’s birthday and I get a chance to present the idea in a slightly different format – I must say, I do like this format better and hope that you all like it too! :D

I have listed and put up pictures of 15 items and you get to pick one of these items and gift it to Mmaoji as her birthday gift. You can gift only one item and each item can be gifted only once and – yes, there is another and – and an important and too – you have to tell us why you chose to gift her particular item.

Oh hah, since it’s possible that more than one person picks the same item – the person who gifts it first to Mmaoji is the true gifter of the item and the runner-up has to pick another gift.

I guess that pretty much covers all the rules for the gifting session. So then, let me kick off this event by gifting Mmaoji a bead. I love beads and want to share it with you Mmaoji. J Once again, wish you a very happy birthday. :D

    Shobha not fair I feel like giving her more than one gift but well if I am forced to choose I will gift her the paper so that she could start penning her beautiful autobiography since it will be a beautiful page which will inspire her which will teach us many lessons in life and which will give her the chance to pour her heart out, feel purged and also give vent to her monumental creativity.

    My choice is “Turmeric Powder”
    The reason is very simple,
    Turmeric is known as“the golden spice of life” and mmao aunt is the “Golden spice” of RH.com
    turmeric is beneficial to mankind same as mmao aunty :)
    Turmeric’s flavor is somewhat earthy, but slightly bitter, peppery. Just like mmao aunt’s love for us, its some times sweet and some times sour, Turmeric powder is been mingled in our lives as we cant even imagine a single day without it’s usage, same as we cant think of living without her existence in the site / forum
    The moment I saw this article, Turmeric was the only thing that came in my mind. because Turmeric Powder is been known for wellbeing and fruitfulness, I want to gift it on her special day.

    Just as a tree is incomplete without leaves …. RH.com and the lives of everyone else here are incomplete without mmao ji.

    Just as the leaves help a plant flourish and make one smile, mmao ji keeps all of us here smiling and in peace and harmony.

    Just as a leaf will turn towards the sun. Mmao ji shows us the light at the end of the tunnel when we are down on our selves.

    Lastly, just as a leaf looks simple yet is very complicated, Mmao ji is very simple yet very knowledgeable in all aspects of life.

    Ahmed you know I was making noodles when I was making a list of the items on friday - that’s how noodles got in here. Ok, you keep them for yourself - don’t you just love Maggie 2 minutes noodles.. I love it - so easy to make and not much cleaning to do afterwards… hahahaha :D

    Padma can you point out a dictionary for me? I’ve been looking for this one for years now and have had no luck finding it - I am looking for an urdu to hindi to english dictionary. Basically I want the urdu words to be translated or better still explained both in hindi and in english. English is my strongest language - hindi 2nd best - but reading hindi is tough and urdu - nada. I want to understand the meaning of the urdu words especially in songs and ghazals - I just love the language. So if you know of such a dictionary, let me know, ok.
