"Jab We Met" with Raja Hasan

My story might not be the typical fan-story, given the fact that I wasn’t really part of the Raja Hasan.com family then. I was just an ardent fan of Amanat and Raja, So let’s begin:
It was a cold December night, and me and Amrita had been waiting for months on end for the SRGMP Superstars to reach our city – Toronto. After a lot of hard work, we found out where they were residing – an upper class hotel near the airport. You might have heard the story from her end, so I will discuss my feelings throughout the night. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was very nervous since I did not know how to control my emotions for someone as special and amazing as Raja Hasan!!!
Jumping to the first few steps inside the hotel and me and Amta looked around to see what we should do next. Once in the hotel lobby, we noticed Sumedha and Junaid sitting and watching TV/surfing the net. I waved at Sumedha, who smiled and waved back and I was suddenly in a different world altogether! I was in the vicinity of my top 7 Contestants!!!!
Immediately we went up to them and introduced ourselves and they were very friendly and caring and inquired more about us. The main attraction though, for both of us, was Raja, whose birthday was fast approaching. We were told to wait for Raja who was doing his rounds between his hotel room and the lobby to give everyone ample time to spend with him.
And now, my eyes were wandering looking for Raja to arrive. I had seen him on TV for months on-end, but how would it be seeing him in person? What will I talk to him about? How will he perceive me? A lot of questions were on my mind, and I had no idea what to expect! Then, the moment arrived, Raja came quickly – almost running – towards us to greet us! He had heard about Amrita from Zahida di, but had no idea who I was! He came up to us and hugged the both of us and told us how happy he is to know that we came all the way from the other end of the city to meet him. I told him how we would do anything to meet him and he was in shock to hear about how crazy his fans can be for him. That, of course, was his modesty speaking as we all know how big of a fan following Raja has had since the beginning of SRGMP!
A truly down-to-earth person, who immediately asked us to walk with him. I wondered where we were going, and he said “to my room baba!” and right away, I felt at ease with him. We started walking, a little excited, a little nervous and now we were in the elevator – me, Amrita, Raja, and Zahida di (& her husband). Raja was the one making all the conversations as me and Amrita were star-struck and were too excited to speak! That’s when he asked Amrita the dreadful question – Do you have any chewing gum?? And oh, mercy! We left the gum pack in her car!!! LoL!!! She was so embarrassed and I laughed at her misery as well since I knew this was always going to be a moment we will look back and laugh at!
Anyways, in his room, Raja and I started talking, and he told me how he has started using Orkut and I told him I have it too! At that, he quickly went to his laptop, and asked me my full name – typed it in the search bar, and searched for me. Unfortunately, my name is a VERY common Muslim name and there was about 9 pages of Mohammed Khalid’s on Orkut. I told him that he need not worry and we can just do it later – but he didn’t feel like giving up, he INSISTED on searching for me (with my help), and he went through all 9 pages to find me!!! This showed how FAR he will go just to show a Fan that he genuinly cares!
Finally, after browsing, he found me, and I was blessed by RAJA HASAN was requesting to ADD ME AS his friend on Orkut!!! I never in a million years thought this would EVER HAPPEN but it did!!! And then, he recorded Teri Deewani for me on my cell phone when we went back down to the lobby. I put this sing on and listen to it TILL this day and feel extremely content! We’re in the lobby still, and then Raja wanted to treat us as we were HIS guests and brought Ras Malai for both me and Amrita, the moment is indescribable!!!! After finishing with dessert we decided to head out for a little sight seeing and went to LAHORE TIKKA HOUSE – home of Punjabi Food in downtown Toronto! Musarrat actually sat in Amrita’s car with us as Raja had sent him as a guarantee that we will be joining them for dinner! HOW SWEET!?

It was Raja, Musarrat, and Harpreet, along with us fans at the restaurant and as we all are aware; Cinderella had to be home very soon since it was close to midnight. Raja, after being given the infamous chewing gum before coming into the restaurant said he was going to drop us to our car. So him and Harpreet came outside and dropped us off and told us that they were really glad to meet us and that they can’t wait till tomorrow (the day of the concert)! They both told use we had be there tommorrow. I wished Raja and them best of luck and told Raja once again how big of a fan I am of his. To this he responded, “nahi aap Fan nahi, friend hain mere!” Since then, I knew I was going to be competition for all the Deewani’s and Souten’s! hehehe…but this is like a family ofcourse!
And as we knew it, our wonderful day had come to a sweet end. Raja was not just a TV Icon, but someone I coul call my friend!!! A friend that I will cherish for the rest of my life!
The next day, the show was OWNED by Raja Hasan! He connected SO WELL with EACH AND EVERY person, young and old, man and woman, individually! Every song he sang had enormous cheers specially Teri Deewani with his twist and added lyrics. He is definitely a maestro in the making, MashaAllah!
Raja, if you are reading this, please NEVER change for ANYTHING as God has perfected by nurturing you into who you are.

I have a big smile on my face. Aaaaah you brought back the memories, as I was reading your comments, I visualized each and everything. I still remember Amrita going “Oh My God, Oh My God, Oh My God” as Raja stood before her LOL.
