RajaHasan.Com Introduces new Column – Art of Singing

We are very proud to introduce you to "Sri Vani" who has been a silent member for long time but she will be contributing a new weekly column that will give out on some tips on art of singing. Sri Vani – Thank You Very Much! We appreciate and look forward to reading your column every week.

One day sitting at home and browsing through the internet and of course reading one of my favorite website content “RajaHasan.Com”, I thought maybe it will be a good idea to talk about some of the tips that may be helpful to the readers in general regarding the art of singing. There might be many new aspirants who either want to be a singer or just want to learn as a hobby and some of the tips might help everyone in general. With this thought I approached the site and was delighted to get a very positive instant response. I will be sending my tips every week in Hindi and “He” will be translating my work before he publishes. Thank you He.

How to clear throat during singing:

Even though some people say one must not clear throat during your performance but then if it is affecting your performance then it is better to clear it but do it tactfully. If there is excess mucous then it might mess up your free vocal cord coordination. You need to clear your throat without irritating it further. You can gently try to cough and see that you do not sound while coughing. Then you must swallow. You should feel little better. But to be on the safer side, as soon as you realize you have a bad throat, take a big glass of water and squeeze in a half lemon juice in it and dissolve it with few drops of honey. Sip this water and take about twenty minutes in sipping the entire content of water. This will help you reduce a lot of mucous and should make you feel little better. Also avoid any oily, fried food and also stay away from diary products for the day.

  5. At present, a singing competition SAREGAMAPA L’ll champs is going on in Marathi language on channel Zee Marathi. The programme is very nice. Last Tuesday, Mr.Sudesh Bhosle came as a guest judge. He gave one tip that if a singer has to maintain his throat, he should not give stage performances. He said that once Smt.Asha Bhonsale has given this tip to him. He added even Ashaji started stage performances after some period.
I understand , in the present period of tough competition it is dificult to avoid, but Sri Vani, your tip will definitely help the aspiring singers.

  9. I would like to congratulate Manish for getting someone like Sri Vani to write articles on the “Art of singing”. I liked her very first article. She seemed to address a very practical problem that most Singers face. I happened to speak to my Gurus (two Gurus) about this problem sometime back and they did not seem to throw a hint. I am looking forward to read more such enlightening articles about the “Art of Singing” from Sri Vani.
