13th October – One Year Later
I am not one who would forget October 13, 2007 in a hurry.
It’s one year since that night when Raja Hasan ended up runner-up at the Saregampa grand finale. Or more appropriate would be the fact that Zee decided to give him the second spot in Saregamapa. It’s a year on, and probably, we should all be moving on with whatever happened. For those who claimed that the results were fair, all you need to do is look at achievements in the past one year of all the Saregamapa finalists. And you’ll know who was the deserving, and who wasn’t.
October 13th was a busy night for me and this blog. Just because I knew I was going to be running short of time that night, I had two sets of drafts ready - one to be posted if Raja wins. And the other - just in case, Raja didn’t win.
Sadly, the first article never got to see the light of the day. One year later, here are few excerpts of an article that never got posted on the website. Something that rightfully should have been there - but never could make it.
Blood, Sweat and Tears - Yes, It is Raja Hasan!
As we all expected Raja Hasan went on to hold the Saregamapa Challenge 2007 trophy in a glittering finale at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. Truly, a deserving winner.
For Raja, Vishal-Shekhar, me, you and all Raja fans, this is really a decisive moment.
And you cannot dismiss this as just another reality-singing competition winning moment. This is a lot more. This is the realisation of a million dreams. Not just the dreams of Raja - but for each one of us - Vishal, Shekhar, Raja’s family and friends and every Raja fan. Each one who has in the past six months has offered blood, sweat and tears just to make one dream possible.
We wished him luck, we backed him, we stood by him, we shed tears for him, we defended him, we prayed for him and of course - we voted for him.
Now, we can afford to smile. Because tonight, Raja has made us proud.
And, as I mentioned this earlier, this is no ordinary victory. Don’t treat this just as a victory in a reality singing contest. It is a victory that signifies that good things happen to good people. It is time to thank God who fulfilled all our prayers. It is a time to forgive. And it is time to rejoice.
Well done Raja. Well done V-S. Well done Raja fans. But dear Raja, the real battle begins now. The real Challenge is the road ahead. And you can be assured that we Raja fans will keep backing you all the way.

Yeah!!! U’r right…..we know who was deserving!!!! But now I feel….it really didn’t matter!!! Raja bhaiya got all the limelight and recognition from SRGMP that he needed!!!
And will always be

dear manish…after reading your draft that you have written for raja’s victory i got very emotional. i am feeling the same pain as i felt in 2007.

to share the stage with none other thn Shahrukh khan is no mean achievmnt. IN 1 YEAR or so Raja has achieved success and fame which no other SRGMP 07 contestant cud achieve.
TO phir hum kaise kahen ki Raja ‘SRGMP 07 ‘ HAARA HAI .aur ager Raja haara hai to uski yeh haar jeet se bahot badi hai.

I would like to thank Manish ji for trusting Raja and for the decision to open this site for all of us and being there for Raja in his very earlier days of SRGMP,I believe this site definitely has a major share in Raja’s popularity and fame.I’d like to thank each and evry person that related to this site.And I hope this site will always be there for Raja,And all we Raja fans will Love him the way as we do now.

oh yes all those sorrow filled moments, hours, days, months and months, sorrow replaced by anger, anger followed by frustration and then finally frustration followed by new found hope, hope followed by certitude in the aftermath of raja’s one success after another.

You broke my heart that day I was watching the finale and it was supposed to be live something made me get up and come to the site and when I read your message I was astounded I even asked you how could you know before hand well it was the worst Eid and my poor son’s birthday was ruined all the women in the house fell asleep in front of the tv because we were so disgusted we did not talk to each other and since we had gotten up since fajr for prayers we slept for four hours but all is well that ends well Raja is well on his way to success InshAllah and we found each other

13 OCT …..The worst day of my life.
Main kabhi soch bhi nahi sakti thi k winning title RAJA ko nahi milay ga……..last moment tak mujhay pakka yaqeen tha k abhi jeetnay k liye raja ka naam liya jaye ga………. Kitnay din tak to mujhay yaqeen hi nahi aya or yeh final 1 bura khwab lagta tha. Tab na mere pass internet access bhi nahi thi so main yahi socha karti thi k pata nahi ab raja ko kaisay suno gi us k baray main koi news kaisay mila karay gi…………..Jab us k songa ain gay to mujhay kaisay pata chalay ga k kaun si movie hai…Or kya ab raja TV per aye ga ya nahi.
Magar waqt guzarnay k stah sath sab ko patta chal gaya k jeet ka asli haqdaar kaun hai.
Raja nay hameesha hum sab ka sar fakhr say ooncha kia hai.1 saal main raja nay jo naam,shuhrat or izzat kamai hai hum sab ko us per naaz hai.
Agar koi or halat hotay to aaj k din hum sab log dobara waisay hi dukh mehsoos kartay but thanks to our RAJA jis nay khob mehnat ki or Apnay aap ko dobara sab k samnay sabit kar diya.
