Mile Sur Mera Tumhara - Ek Se Badhkar

Here’s the video of Raja Hasan and other singers singing the Mile Sur Mera Tumhaara song.

The song was part of an Indian video created in 1988 by Lok Seva Sanchar Parishad, and promoted by Doordarshan (then India’s sole TV broadcaster). The song was composed by Louis Banks and written by Piyush Pandey (Ila Arun’s brother). It quickly captivated millions in India and is often known as India’s unoffical anthem.

  1. I can’t see the video - says video no longer available…

If this is the same song that I remember from my yesteryears, wow… I want to hear this one…soon :)

It did become Inda’s unoffical anthem, didn’t it? :)

  2. I loved this song then and I love it even more now. What a warm feeling of oneness and brotherhood this song invokes.

There were so many such songs that were made over the years which talked about unity and peace and brotherhood. Feel like listening to all those all over again. :)

Thank you so much for putting this up here. :)

  3. Just a small correction: The composers were Louis Banks and the late P Vaidyanathan.

  4. wow… beautiful… loved it.. oh my God.. this song made me cry.. i miss my country… simply outstanding song… everyone sang very well.. keep it up.. the impact was awesome… though i wish they could sing the entire song instead of half… but loved it!!!

  7. heey wonder if anyone managed to catch the i-day special of srgmp…there was someone singing vande mataram… he did a gd job but i felt tht the power and passion was missing….

  8. @raja fan
Sayan sang vande matram …ofcourse raja has taken this song to the new heights so that level ws missing…but sayan did good considering his voice type

I was hoping raja got a larger part in mile sur mera tumhara and could fill up the void of bhimsen joshi
