Raja Hasan sang the traditional Rajasthani folk song Yaara Sili Sili tonight on Ek Se Badhkar Ek. In spite of a sore throat he managed to get 9 points from Ahmed Khan.

    oh my God … brilliant performance… i totally totally loved it. the feel, the way carried totally touched my heart and i can say that his performance today added a beautiful flavor to my weekend which i am going to relish it for a long long time.
    Simply outstanding and brilliant.
    when he was speaking, we could make out that he got soar throat and on top of that he managed to get that feel to the song is mind blowing.
    As Rahul said - dilo ka raja… raja proved another time that he is dilo ka raja… keep it up raja.. proud of u!!

    Nice singing , Raja. Recently, on channel Zee 24 taas (Zee 24 hrs) in Marathi lanuage, there was a programme concerned with health, where an Aurvedic doctor advised that ‘ Steam inhalation’ is best for sore throat. The doctor said,’ gargling does not help sore throat much as it does not reach the inside of the throat, whereas, inhalation does reach inside of the throat .’ I wish Raja should try this , if not done earlier. As he usually sings high pitched songs, it will definitely be useful to him . At least , it will not do any harm. I earnestly wish Manish or Padma or anyone who can call Raja personally, should inform him about this , in case Raja does not get time to read this message.

    Singing in bad throat depends on how bad and what type it is.In many cases it is not a problem. At best it can give you extra bass (and also extra lower notes) to your voice adn just some huskiness/kharash on higher range.

    Raja’s sore throat looked really bad, to the point he could not push through the notes properly. It was somewhat like what prajakta had in JJWS. If it is an infection then it hurts terribly also, so you can’t throw your voice much. If infection is in your ears,you could have trouble listening and maintaining pitch. Raja’s breath seemed to have affected
    but he did well to adjust his singing pattern with short breaks for breaths.

    With weather like Mumbai, u r likely to get it 3-4 times a year.
    As long as one takes a good care of it, it shouldn’t be a problem.

    Guys Raja is really an amazing guy. I tried my smattering of bengali with ayesha and when raja got to know that i am actually tamil he sang a couple of tamil songs for me and also malayali songs and spoke about a whole lot of friends that he had made in Dubai amongst the malayali and tamil dominated community. Also spoke a few lines a mix of malayalam and tamil. HE IS TRULY AMAZING and a REAL RAJA of people’s hearts.

Raja, in this instance has mixed two versions - one the Hridayanath Mangeshkar/ Sampoorna Singh version from Lekin and probably the original Punjabi folk song - Chori Chori tere naal - which was made popular by Pakistani singers like Reshma.

    u know i never liked this song at all before, since raja sand i love it, I always record all the raja songs and i keep on listening this YARA SILI SILI AND NASHA HI NASHA HAY. i luv the way he has sung it.

    raja has a natural talent that comes out from his heart.

    I watch eksebar kar ek very closely and i see abhijeet always gives sanchita and aneek good marks ( why ? because they are from same region as abhijeet )

    ahmed always good and genuine.

    i think abhijeet shouldn’t be the judge he spoils the mood.
