We are One.
Not many people would begin a new venture on the 13th of a month. Neither would I. Not that I believe in superstitions, but somehow, if there is any way to postpone thing by a day, I don’t mind doing that. But exactly one year earlier, probably I had forgotten that it was the 13th of the month. And that too a Friday the 13th. And that is when this Raja Hasan blog was setup.
To be honest, the Raja Hasan blog almost would have been a Mauli Dave blog. That was actually my first intention. I had a feeling that Mauli Dave would be a lot more popular amongst Indians (and worldwide), and I thought it would make more sense to talk about her. And of course I liked her too. Luckily or unluckily, my wife didn’t like her. And I still remember that angry stare she gave me when I told her that I could try out a blog on Mauli. That was the end of finest blog on Mauli that never got created.
And it ended up being Raja Hasan’s blog.
The site was initially set up as one of my search engine experiments. I had no experience of blogging and all I wanted to see was how quickly the site could rank #1 in Google. It took me less than two days - as there were very few mentions about Raja Hasan at that time. After I set up the site, I wondered if there will be any traffic at all. I almost gave it up. And then the first comment came in - from Rahul (The other Rahul, not Rahulyser). And then the site never had a lonely moment.
For the first few days, the blog was typically the same as most other fan blogs are - simple news updates and videos posted. News was hard to find. Sometime down the line, I decided to add a few features of my own - talking about my own stupid views. And before I knew what had hit - the hosting service informed me that I was exceeding my bandwidth limit.
Soon, this blog - which was supposed to be news and video site for Raja Hasan had changed dramatically. It turned into a place where all Raja fans could unite. They could cheer him, support him and at times vent fury at Saregamapa organizers. It suddenly transformed into a place where all like-minded Raja fans could gather and speak to each other. It no longer was a Raja Hasan’s website. It was now the voice of Raja Hasan’s fans.
One year down the line, with a few hiccups here and there, the site has managed to survive - keeping all Raja fans together. Today, we can proudly say that - we are one. And its not the age of the website I am talking about.

and manish you genious what an idea man!!! an idea can truly change a million lives and it has well let’s say not a million but quite a few hundreds lives it has indeed transformed so much so that we have lost our initial identities and emerged with a common identity something that i for one never ever imagined myself to be sporting at least till the time your wonderful blog and all the beautiful people inhabiting this space and our brilliant raja, his voice and depth and range hit me bang in the solar plexus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well today i have got used to this identity even though people around me refuse to believe that I could actually behave like such a crazed fan and feel that it is unworthy of me. They will never understand what this site and you and raja and my family here mean to me though my influence and steadfastness and single-minded devotion seem to have rubbed off on my younger son at least who has ended up becoming a die-hard raja fan too.
Last but not the least Raja Hasan Ji appko aapki site ki saalgirah mubarak ho.

Congratulation for completing one year… I have never been active member because of my past experience of writing. Which took lot of time away from my personal life and lot of people do not like that. But I never missed reading. I came to this site through Jugal bhai, who gave me the link. First I thought, wow Raja has a site and that is in early phase of competition. But later I found it is a fan site and has all kind of latest news about Raja. When we all Raja fans were targetted in other site for just supporting Raja, this site gave us strength and voice to raise our appreciation for Raja. I think our sher on Raja will be somewhere in archive which I think Nupur and Doremifaso brought here from other site. Then I stopped coming here after something written against Barnalidi, I alway respect a lady irrespective of which situation I am in. To me that was bad phase and ended very soon. Then I saw lot of improvement on site thanks to Manish and JugalBhai. Their contributions alongwith other members took this site to greater height. They brought lot of stuff to this site which nobody knows about Raja. Sorry for bringing few thing which other may not like, but I write down what I saw and felt in one year journey with rajahasn.com. Best thing about this site is it gives voice to the member and same time maintains the sanctity. Once again congratulation for completing one year…

Jadoobhai, you bring back those days when things had certainly gone over the top. I at times read those posts and feel that quite a few things were really stupid - and a lot of times I do regret things.
I think a lot of anger was not just at Zee but how Raja fans at IF were treated. And Jugal played a mighty important role in positively channelising all Raja fans at IF towards here.
But the kavi-sammelan thread on Raja was simply outstanding - It was Jugal who brought it my notice. I think it might have been deleted from IF for now - But somewhere I might have a copy of it and will post it here for memory-sake here.

Wow, one year - time flies when one is having fun. Fantastic job Sir RHB of starting and maintaining this site and also a very big thank you to each and everyone who came, saw and stayed and made a great site. Also, all those who did not linger - congrats to you to - all of us together have iven it this shape. So, let’s celebrate. I am going to do so in the std desi way - by eating 
On a more fun note - why not have an interview of Sir RHB. Each of us asks Sir RHB a question and he has to reply to the question. Let’s make it that Sir RHB has to answer at least 2 of our questions - that way, hum bhi khush aur Sir RHB will be spared from answering more than 2 questions by the same person. So, guys and gals keep track of questions asked and let the session begin.. And Sir RHB, no comment is not an option nor is I take the 5th. We can probably have a cut off day of 16th midnight to end this session - since we are all from diffrerent time zone…??

Manish, your article ..reminded me of my first comment on the site. …when i searched for raja hasan on the internet …i was sure he was some great classical singer …who was probably making a guest appearance on SRGMP… So i thought he must have some web presence.
Then, I found this wonderful site, and discovered that it is a fan site and is indeed in very good hands. Kudos to Manish.

On a more serious note, I’m glad you started this site on friday the 13th…. because my brother is born on friday, the 13th and he’s an awesome guy. Thankfully, it’s only much, much later in life that we came to know all the superstitions about the friday, the 13th and by then we could ignore all that… And look at where Rajahasan.com is now - it’s doing so much better than so many other sites which started around the same period, isn’t it?
Kavitha, you had asked how to get smileys… well just put : and ) next to each other - give a space before and after the “:)” and it works - that’s what I found - I have a very limited vocabulary of smiley - basically only - “:) and ;)” which translate to

running a fever from last night early morning. must have got it from my son who has viral fever.
My experience was also like jadoo bhai’s. I was so happy to find this site after having fought bitter battles for raja on other blogs, the rediff saregamapa blog. It seemed to be such a crime just to be supporting Raja and not wanting to change sides!!!! How much I wrote on that thankless blog inhabited by some real creeps as well. I really suffered especially given that it was the first time I had become a fan of someone from day 1 and felt that it was all so futile because my comments would be deleted reported for abuse for no rhyme or reason just because it was convincing and well written and some must have felt that I might end up convincing others to change loyalties and start voting for raja. That’s when I discovered this site and joined it in a big way because it was so reassuring and nice to be among likeminded people and grieving together and also a site with no creepy crawley elements
