Ek Se Badhkar Ek - 26th June - Yawn!
Here we go!
On Ek Se Badhkar Ek, things began with Abhijeet singing Chalti Hai Kya Nau Se Baarah. And immediately you wish that he gets nau do gyaarah.
And then a twist. Babu announces that every couple is given a theme this week. And with a massive amount of imagination, Champ and Naagin are given the theme “Love”. Wow!
Ms. Naagin Ghosh dressed in gold tried a Sush-like performance on Mehboob Mere Mehboob from Fiza. Abhijeet was disappointed, while Ahmed was impressed. She gets a whopping 8.
Then came Raja with Tadap Tadap ke, which was splendid singing. As mentioned in a separate post, 7 for him.
Next, a surprise visit from Jackie Shroff and former actor turned producer Sahil Chadha who were here to promote some movie of theirs.
And then Abhishek came in with a Kurtaa-faad performance which managed a 8 from the judges. Abhijeet then took the opportunity to take on Abhishek’s partner, Sumedha. And Sumedha, probably going by the script, got sobbing. So, tomorrow – you can expect a sparkling Sumedha performance, and Abhijeet would say – see I told you so – meri chabuk ka asar hai. It’s getting a bit too predictable now.
Amit Paul’s theme was Panchamda and he decided to have a go at Dil Lena Khel Hai. Amit picks Abhijeet as his judge. Abhijeet pointed out that there’s a difference between a great song and great singing – whatever that meant. Jackie Shroff however provided much relief with his comments, trying to decrypt Abhijeet’s comments. Amit got a 5.
Amrapali tried to play to the masses with Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo. But you really can’t beat Yana ji.
Emon Chatterjee came with Saara Zamaana from Yaarana, with Raja and Harpreet playing the chorus boys. Unfortunately, at this stage the voice on the Zee channel got blanked out – no idea if my cable guy was at fault or a transmission fault.
But from lip-reading, I can see that Sanchita did a wonderful performance of Vande Mataram (Anand Math version).
Okay the voice is back.
Now there seems to be a tie yet again. And now Ahmed decides that the final decision of the elimination will be taken after the dance performances of Purbi and Kushal. And that will happen tomorrow.
BTW, Rahulyser is out of town, busy dating his girlfriend, so his much awaiited analysis won’t be available this week.

manish even here in delhi it blanked out. so your cable guy not at fault.
in fact my son ended up convincing me that we need a new tv because of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Something is fishy here with the voice blanking out. With Zee everything suddenly gives rise to a conspiracy theory. Now, how does one vote for Sanchita, if they couldn’t hear her voice?
voice went out here too…
You are right Manish,
Raja should stay out of all this tamasha and concentrate only on singing…
i hate the way Abhijeet “judges” Raja…and the way he went overboard wtih Toshi (who is nowhere near Raja)…
i am full of comments today :))))
Raja please sing Dil haara re from Tashan next time …please please
Of course, I would love to hear albela sajan ayo ri from Hum dil…..
I have a feeling Zee wants to extend the series by a week -for whatever reasons. Next week when Sanchita would be in the firing line - they’ll put the entire elimination on hold for a week.
Watching today’s episode, i feel Raja is misfit here, he is above all this. Abijeet is so loud in rude in talking, which an artist should never be.
Raja just play back………………….. rest all will come your way. Good luck RAJA
voice went out here too during Sanchita’s performance,
Abhijith ke comments se pata chalta hai ki Sanchita ne gaane ko completely nahi gaayi thi kuch words bhool gayi thi shaayad.
kash Raja NDTV ke sufi song wali progamme me hota…..the atmosphere is hundred times better there
BTW, we have sound in the US of A - Sanchita was not too impressive - she forgot lines, messed uo singing and so on and so forth - I guess that’s why they had the dance competition to decide who gets kicked out of the show.
Based on whatever Zee TV decided to show us - it seemed like Abhjeet was unhappy with both Emon and Sanchita and he probably did not want Sanchita to go (that’s my bias speaking BTW, can’t kill it compeletely, unfortunately) - so he made it a tie between Emon and Sanchita after making a big scene (his usual sytle) and almost refusing to give points - he left it to Ahmed who then said it should be dancing competion and so on and so forth- what a farce the whole thing seems to be - I’m here only because of Raja. My interest level is so low on these kinds of show - they all have the same format and same boring dramas, grrr.
Oh Q. Shobha… Sanchita sounded so wonderful without the audio!
Sir RHB, I waish I was so lucky
Oops - that’s wish- no idea what waish is?????
