A few lines for Yash Raj Films…
News has been around that Raja Hasan has recorded a duet with Sunidhi Chauhan for a Yash Raj production. I am not sure if the project in question is Sid Anand’s Bachna Ae Haseenon by Vishal-Shekhar, but most likely that is the movie.
But, I wouldn’t categorise Raja’s singing for the said song exactly as a duet. Probably in duet, both singers have more or less the same amount of lines. But what Raja has recorded is a few “link lines” (I am not sure what the exact terminology is) for a Sunidhi Chauhan song. What that means is Raja’s lines are somewhere in between as a chorus performance and a full-fledged duet.
Just as an example, the “few lines” would be a little more than say Vishal’s “Butterfly, butterfly” in Maari Teetri. Or something similar to what Piyush Mishra sang in Chaliya Chaliya from Tashan.
I had the privilege of listening to the Raja’s lines of the said song - it sounded pretty catchy (trademark VS stuff) to me - again with a distinct rustic feel and few English lyrics thrown in.
But the good news is - even if it is a small part, Raja is getting his breaks into big banners as well.
However, just a word of caution. There are many slips between the cup and the final audio release. So, maybe, we could have muted celebrations now - and wait till the official word comes from the VS or YRF camp that Raja’s voice would feature in it.

Awesome!!! I am soooooooooooooooo happy to know this news. Even few lines or few words in Raja’s voice still make me happy.
And hoping and praying that one day Raja will sing full fledged songs for all the big banners of bollywood and pray that he will be the most demanded singer. Amen!!
Lavanya had suggested few songs for Raja to sing on Ek se badkar ek and one particular song that she suggested, I would really really want to hear Raja sing that. Raja please sing “Jhoka hawa ka aaj bhi” from Hum dil de chuke sanam”
I think this would be an awesome song in your voice and your singing will surely fill everyone’s heart.

Actually what really moves me is Raja’s modesty and humility. He is such a sweetheart and such a sweet talker and honestly it is really not put on. Everytime this is what overwhelms me about him, the sheer niceness in this guy!!!!
He really deserves to go very very far in life. Here’s wishing him all the very very best.

I sincerely hope and wish that this is one rumor that is true. I hope this song with RAJA’S VOICE is part of the movie, the audios and also, that the song becomes a huge hit.
Raja singing a duet is likely to be always problematic …because he uses the scale half octave higher than female singers. He will need a complete make-over and practice low notes very hard if he has wants do serious duet singing.
One thing YRF does is market its music very aggressively. Even albums which have been termed average by critics have always had very good sales. The movies they make does bomb from time to time - but the music usually does very well commercially.

@ Raffu, I don’t agree with you, did you hear that rajasthani song he sang along with khushboo jain that was amazing and I must say that was a perfect duet, nowhere Raja dominated the female singer,
