Kailash Kher - the Sufi Powerhouse
Kailash Kher was on Yeh Sham Mastani last Friday and gave his power packed performances. I am following Yeh Shaam Mastani and in fact I didnt like Kailash`s performances since all other singers were showing their talent by improvising songs sung by them but Kailash sung in his usual way nothing new.
However the best performance of the evening was Dhol Bajda and Bam Lahri. He also sang Allah ke Bande and Teri Deewani. You can hear and judge for yourself after hearing Kailash singing Allah ke Bande. Raja has improvised the song too beautifully. Here are the videos for you:
The best performance of the evening Bamlahri and Kailash also mimicked Javed Akhtar, Anu Malik and Pritam.

Though Kailash Kher is one of my favourite singers…..I don’t know why but I didn’t enjoy this episode…specially Allah ke Bande….didn’t like it at all!!!
Raja sang Saiyyan ,Allah ke bande and Chakde phatte 100 times better than Kailash.
Raja improvised all these songs beatifully and he sang them soulfully.
Whenever i listen these songs i get tears in my eyes but when i heard in kailash’s voice i really didn’t like them.
These days i’m following the show Jo jeeta wohi super star.
It was sufi songs special episode last week , none of the contestants were close to Raja, Abhijit sang well ,,Rahul vaidya sang Haji ali vishal ji & shakher ji appreciated him and said that it was the best performance of the whole season but i really not enjoyed it, in UKU Raja sang beatifully and soulfully i was compltely moved by his singing and all three judges were also speachless,
Other participants sang Saiyyan, Piya re, Teri deewani
but none of them was a soul touching performance as Raja’s used to be.
i totally agree with you lavanya. i also watch this programme and yes all of them sang correctly but no soul in any of the songs. in fact the only person who usually moves me more than the others is himani. NONE OF THE OTHERS DO.
Raja’s piya haji ali was so so very different because it was so sincere and so soul stirring. in fact immediately after the show i just HAD TO listen to raja’s on you tube once again in order to continue feeling good abt the song and then i went on to hear the original clipping etc etc which was also great.
In fact i wondered why vishal freaked out saying that it was the best in the whole season!!! The problem with rahul vaidya is that nothing ever really does come from the soul.
Raja is much better at ‘live performance’ than Kailash!
Chak de fattey is totally Raja’s song….
in recording kailash’s voice comes out slightly heavier thant Raja’s …but raja’s ability to put in fine inflections and murkis is something I don’t see as much in Kailash. So my winner is Raja !
My dear folks Raja wins hands down woh mithaas nahi hai Kailash kher mein I am so sorry kailash fans when Raja sings saiyyan it puts me in a trance and Allah ke Bande reduces me to tears Kailash didn’t do that for me and I am not the soutens it has nothing to do with curly locks and the smile oh and by the way I was upset by him mimicing pritam first of all no one’s impediment should be joked about what whould kailash do if we called him a dwarf and after watching pritam on chote ustaad and seeing how much of a nice man he is and also being absolutely mad about the song in dino I can listen to this song over and over I do not appreciate kailash’s humour
i felt even in the comedy round in jo jeeta wohi superstar ,Debojit was not able to reach one fifth of what Raja did to the song ‘o saanbariya’. …& i could also see no reason why Rahul was so much praised for ‘haaji ali’…& for allah ke bande,no one is atpar with Raja…
