Sukhwinder ki singing mein pagalpan hai junoon hai
Yesterday night on Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar after Ishmeet the winner of Star Voice of India attempted Sukhwinder`s song Chak De India. Farah asked all the contestents to not to select Sukhwinder`s song unless they are confident. Sukhwinder ki singing mein ek pagalpan ek junoon hai.
Farah meant to say that those songs are very tough to sing and its not easy to create the feel and affect that Sukhwinder can create.
This is how Ishmeet performed and Farah`s comments:
Now Raja Hasan in Saregamapa 2007 attempted 6 Sukhwinder songs 1)Tu to Jaane Naa 2) Chinamma Chilkamma 3) Ramta Jogi 4) Omkara 5) Chaiyaan Chaiyaan and 6) Dard-e-Disco.
Raja sang these songs so perfectly that in out of these 6 performances in 4 performances he was asked by the audience to sing once more.
Raja always attempted tough songs on the show. He sang 2 songs of NFAK and 4 of Kailash Kher.
He did full justice to all these songs. Lets hope he also does full justice to new compositions.We are waiting for the new releases.Next two months are very crucial for Raja`s career.
Let’s pray and wish all the best to Raja and with the blessings of so many fans and well wishers he will surely reach his deserved place that is among the best singers of the Indian music industry.

Dr.JB, you missed Rut Aa Gayee Re from Earth 1947. One of my favourite Sukhwinder songs. Surprisingly in this song, Raja was a bit muted. Not that he didn’t do justice to the song - but there was a lot more he could have played around with - probably why this song of his is not much discussed.
But the key point Farah was making is the need to “connect” with the audiences. Sur can take a backseat - but it is vital to connect with your singing. And most songs that Raja picked were difficult songs - because all needed a high degree of involvement in singing.
There are other examples of “difficult” songs Raja picked - and successfully brought out the “feel” - Naina Thag Lenge, Allah Ke Bande, Teri Deewani, Maa Tujhe Salaam, Piya Haji Ali, Oopar Khuda were songs in which he really moved his listeners.

I have been following this website rite from day 1….I am a gr88 fan of Raja…My wife..my 6 year old kid all are crazy abt him….I have alwyas felt that Raja is a legend in making…..He is above these stupid competitions…Hopefully he will be recognised as one of the all time greats in the future…..Guys I shud say u r all doing a gr88 job here…

and pls juxtapose farah’s commets after raja’s dard-e-disco with this one: she said that she had thought only sukhwinder could have done justice to the song but had revised her opinion after hearing raja and insisted that raja’s version be included in the subsequent release of cds of OSO.
raja matches sukhwinder’s range, intensity and pagalpan (in a different manner). and unlike ishmeet who chose to sing a scale lower raja chooses the same range with sukhwinder and with certain other singers even a scale higher!!!!

About Raja all these songs that I now religiously listen to thanks to JB I had never heard of them and even when I did hear them they did not touch my heart but when Raja sang I started humming them right away akhir koi na koi toh baat hai is larkey mein Allah is ko bahut bahut taraqi Dey Ameen
when i was watching the show last night, i thought these same things when farah was commenting!!! raja delivers sukhwinder’s songs so well!! i can’t wait till the day i can hear him chak de india.
Can anyone tell us more about the song that Raja sings in the final - “humari adhuri kahani”? Thanks.
Last week even Abhijit Sawant had sung Dard - e disco and he was not upto the mark. He had breath problems. But when Raja sang it, it was flawless. It shows that Raja is much more talented than many of his other fellow participants.
Raja will be singing “teri deewani” too?
