Behind Every Successful Raja Hasan…
The first time we saw her - we were not even sure who she was.
It was during the finals of the Saregamapa, when Raja was running around the stage in his Maa Tujhe Salaam performance, we spotted a lady in red, fighting hard to keep her tears back. She caught many television viewers’ attention.
Who was she? Was she Raja Hasan’s wife? And if yes, what’s her name.
But that image of the lady in the red saree, now we know as Ayesha, Raja’s wife - is still very clear in my memory. Her eyes said it all. It was an extremely proud moment for her. She was indeed extremely happy that her husband had finally got the attention he deserved. And she did her best to hold back those tears.
It surely has been a long journey, a remarkable journey for Ayesha. And possibly, Raja wouldn’t have succeeded, if she hadn’t backed him all along. She was there for him during times when the going was tough. They struck together in trying times - and now when Raja’s career is a lot more secure - Raja remains indebted to her.
Raja loves Ayesha immensely - and there are no doubts about that. He almost blushes when he talks about her in interviews. But he doesn’t hesitate to sing the “pyaar kabhi kam nahin karna” song, each time he gets the opportunity - a song he dedicates to her.
But I have always had a feeling that the love between the couple does reflect in Raja’s singing. Every time you hear a song about love in Raja’s voice, there is talk about how his voice touches hearts. And I am pretty confident that it is the love for Ayesha that translates into the magical, heart-touching singing - be it Hoga tumse pyaara kaun or Teri Deewani.
I have read reports that Ayesha herself is a wonderful and trained singer. I am not sure about this, but hope one day we hear a duet from them.
