Khalbali - Raja Hasan in Rock the Dhunn

Thanks to Sudha and her husband, we have finally managed to get the video clip of Raja Hasan’s performance in Rock The Dhunn on Zee Next where he along with Aneek sang the “Khalbali” song.

An A.R.Rehman composition, originally sung by AR Rehman, Aslam and Nacim for Rang De Basanti, the song has quite a few Arabic influences, and it does suit Raja’s voice too.

It really is refreshing to see a Raja song after a long gap. Thanks Sudha!

    Waise, am I the only one or does someone else also feel that Aneek went too much out of Sur (and sometimes made our Raja also sound besura)?
    Also, hasnt Raja put on some happy wt? Guess he is glad to be back with Ayesha after a long time. :)

    And even if Raja has put on a couple of pounds, he still looks adorable…and WHY did Aneek sing with Raja, every time Raja was about to do some long high amazing note Aneek would come in a RUIN IT!

    I always speak my mind and from my heart so here goes what I felt after watching the video…
    just like raja fan, i too didnt like the video much. Looks like they didnt prepare much before performing and I didnt like the singing of that song. I am not much of a khalbali song fan but then AR Rahman sang it beautifully and here the song was literally killed… sorry to say but I was disappointed. But I am not going to blame Aneek entirely for it then that would not be right or fair. both of them havent prepared it well and both didnt sing it well. both critisizm and praises should be taken in the right spirit keeping improvement in mind. Lets hope as the time goes, their singing and performances will improve and we will see a rocking number soon as I am confident that Raja surely can do a zillion times better. I just felt he wasnt himself in this video. I have seen his world tour performances where he sang along with other singers and inspite of other singers jumping in right and left, he always left a mark for himself in those songs so thats the Raja I would like to see always and I am sure the next performance will be that way! Amen!!
    Raja I love you from the deep down of my heart, please take good care of yourself and always give ur hundered percent to ur singing and performances… you will InshaAllah go on top and be the Raja of Bollywood very soon. I am sorry if u felt bad about my remarks, I felt bad too :(
    But I love you and will always do!!

I have seen this programme and I was rather disappointed with the performance of Raja & Aneek.In this programme audience judge the song as good, excellent etc. & of course, this was not chosen as the excellent performance of the evening. Being a great fan of Raja, I think Raja should do a lot of riyaz (which he must be doing ) & concentrate more on singing rather than performance.
    I will like to add that on last two Sundays, Zee has retelecast Saregamapa episodes. On last Sunday, Salman Khan episode was shown. & this Sunday, 3 episodes ( only songs & not remarks of the mentors) were shown at 10.00 p.m. to 11.30. Raja’s 3 songs i.e. ori gori, teri deewani & hey kanchan were shown. It was so nice to see the whole programme after 3 months period. I think Zee is in possession of precious treasure in the form of all episodes of Saregamapa ch. 2007! (Pl. trust me I am not
    watching any programme on Zee , but while changeing the channels, I was surprised to see this
    programme going on & was able to enjoy it ).

    I too agreed with RAFFU AND ANAGHA.Rajas performance was not up to the mark. sorry to say , but its a fact. he cant sing upper notes properly. uske gale me kharash aai thi. may be because of bad throat or because of over exertion.
    . I don’t want to comment on ANEEK.
    RAJA should concentrate on singing and remembering lyrics. RAJA we are waiting for your great performance.

    me too refrained from commenting because I also thought that the performance was pretty bad and Raja’s failing in the high notes so badly bothered me a great deal but have been wanting for along time to thank Sudha for her contribution.

    it was an acquaintance but the suddenness of the whole thing really affected me and I am very close to her son who is like a son to me (in the same rock band as my son). It was cancer and took just three weeks to finish off a woman.

    Will keep in regular touch from now onwards. Love all of you and wish everyone all the very best ever and to our Raja too. May he become better and better and he certainly will and may he scale new heights.

    I think it was also aneek accompanying him which did not gel at least for me, their voices which do not blend, aneek on his own trip etc etc hehe

    i just feel that its high time that we stop blaming Aneek for everything. i know love is blind but doesnt mean that love should be that blind that others get blamed for our love’s mistakes too … lol… just hoping to see better performances in future as he is the best and he can do it!! does anybody know when the bhojpuri song is getting released?
