Finally, as 2007 comes to an end, we have the prestigious RajaHasan.com Awards for the year 2007. And taking a leaf out of Zee TV’s framed rules, I would like to state that the discretion on selecting winners rests solely with me. I reserve my right to award anyone any award at my own sole discretion, without assigning any reason for the same. And of course, no dispute pertaining to the procedure will be entertained. Sporting smile of the Year Award: Raja’s smiling reaction when he was shown the door by Anandji in the Bhramastra round. No complaints, no regrets. Just a smile.

The Raja Fan of the Year Award: So many contenders that it is difficult to pick one. So I finally decided to give it collectively to the kids. We saw a number of outstanding kids who did their bit for Raja - there was Avantika, Rishit and a wonderful talent from Bikaner who sang Naina thag lenge. And of course there were the bunch of kids who kept screaming “once more” after the Vande Mataram performance of Raja. This is for them.

The Oh-No! of the Year Award: The news that finally confirmed Raja’s marriage brought out a collective sigh of Oh No! from the Deewanis.

Optimists of the Year Award: Goes to the sporting Raja ki Deewanis - who’ll still keep trying.

Most Disheartening Moment of the year: Raja being blamed for the elimination of Mussarat Abbas.

The Arithmetic Genius of the Year Award: Himesh Reshammiya won the award comfortably for his precise calculation when he mentioned - Saregamapa is watched by 500 crore people. That is just about 90% of the world’s population. Wonder why the rest of the 10% didn’t watch Saregamapa.

Sensible people of the Year Award: Goes to Vishal-Shekhar for being the most sensible people on the Saregamapa show. They backed talent and supported everyone, irrespective of the Gharana. And they continued their support even after the show finished.

Show-your-displeasure Award of the Year: Goes to Brijmohanlal Munjal of Hero Honda Motors, who showed his displeasure towards Zee’s manipulatory tactics by affecting a complete boycott of the Saregamapa Grand Finale.

I-can-shut-you-up Award of the Year: Aditya Narayan for tactfully cutting short Himesh’s yet another nonsensical tirade right after the Saregamapa results were announced.

Besharam of the Year Award: Who else? No other contenders.

Hollow Threat of the Year Award : Goes to Anuradha Ravi, (Anu_rad) senior moderator at India-Forums.com who sent us an email saying - I’ll get your site and forum shut down.

The Video of the Year Award: It was tempting to give the award to Raja’s Dard-e-Disco performance video on youtube - as it has more views than the original soundtrack from OSO. But the hugely popular video was pipped by the one below where Raja sings “Pyaar kabhi kam nahin karna” for his fans:

Slogan of the Year Award: Goes to Martand who came up with this gem: Sab China hai bhai China hai, bas Raja Hindustani hai…
