Raja arrives to a huge welcome in Bikaner

As expected, thousands of people were there to welcome Raja Hasan as he arrived with his wife in Bikaner. This was his first visit to his hometown after the Saregamapa contest. Raja’s father, Rafiq Sagar had arrived in Jaipur to receive his son a day earlier. From Jaipur, they had moved to Ajmer Sharif before arriving in Bikaner.

The enthusiasm among his supporters was such that there was hardly any space to move around at Raja’s residence. Finally had to go up to his balcony and address his fans who had come down to catch a glimpse of him. Raja spent the day meeting childhood friends and school mates.

In the evening, he put in a rocking performance in the special show organised at the Railway grounds. I’ll update you more on the show in a seperate post as more news and pics filter in.

Priyanka from the US and visiting India, a regular on this blog, was in Bikaner yesterday to watch Raja Hasan perform live. She did get to meet Raja personally and this is what she said - “He is not just the most amazing singer we all know him to be, but I can confirm that he is definitely the most humble and polite person you could ever meet.”

Raja Hasan, inspite of his star status now, still remains the extremely polite person he always was. Amrita has dug out a fan video from backstage in the Surat show, where he makes his fans feel more important than the celebrity himself! Do check it out.
