Coming up: A Smash Hit from Raja Hasan

Vishal Dadlani, Raja Hasan’s mentor, both during and after Saregamapa had been on this site this afternoon. And he had a small bit of news for us. Here’s what he said:

“I assure you, Raja’s first song will be a SMASH! From then on, it’s up to you guys!”

Vishal did not mention any details on which song this would be - or which film. But it seems that they plan to give Raja a “smashing” debut.

Obviously, Vishal and Shekhar have kept their word, their promise. From Vishal’s comments, it seems it isn’t just another break, but a very promising composition that has landed Raja’s way. It seems to be a dream start to Raja’s playback singing career.

And Vishal rightly points out - that from then on, it is up to us. VS can only offer Raja a chance, and Raja will of course do justice to the composition. But the real effort will have to be put in by all Raja fans. Of course we need to buy the album. But we can do a lot more. Whatever, the song, We need to make it extremely popular. By perhaps sending in repeated requests to  radio stations, local cable channels. We need to ensure that Raja’s release stays on top of charts. For weeks and months.

Only then, we can be assured of a secure career for Raja.

Raja Hasan has apparently already recorded for VS this week. And he has a few more projects lined up. But the first release is the one that matters the most. V-S seem to have meticulously planned Raja’s first innings on the the big stage.

And we need to ensure that it is a century on debut.

    Thanks a ton for introducing Raja to SRGMP and if you believe me I have never been a fan of anyone so far..I am in my early 40s now with two Children working as an IT Manager..(SAP HR) , one of the decent professions in IT..at Washington DC , USA..where people live in the practical world..I have been so very impressed with VS & Raja ..I have no words to express.. VS as mentors and MD ar simply great..and Raja ..no words, he is simply superb, with his singing, humility and modesty..on the who the best combination on the SRGMP and a big big big super hit..

    I have been mesmerized by Raja’s singing and have been keenly following this forum for the past few months. To keep it relevant to the larger context, we have to move on from the SRGMP show and the antics of a couple of mentors to where Raja’s music goes from there. SRGMP 2007 results are not relevant to the eventual success or failure of any of the artists in the top 5 or 10.

    A word about the mentors. HS’s behavior and personal tirades were irritating and embarrasing to put it mildly. One would a sense of magnanimity from a person who has reached a certain level of success…but no, this fellow’s insecurities and petty mindedness have completely taken over his being. idiot.

    Hi everyone,

    I agree 100 % with the views published on this site. You all our die hard fans of Raja and so am I.
    I have gone through the same cycle of emotions as you all have of denial, confusion, anger, guilt, doubt, frustration, unease, depression, withdrawal etc. I have taken great strength from many of your analyses. I liked DoReMi’s analysis of Raja’s devotional/love songs. I have laughed a lot reading about Besharmiya.

    I just wanted to bring closure to the rigging issue for my personal sake. As mentioned earlier I have exams next week and I hope by penning my thoughts I can start studying.

    1. God is the biggest Godfather of all. He put Raja in the contest and made sure that he remains till the finals. ID and Himmy babyy tried their utmost to sway voters by giving Raja bad marks but did not succeed in throwing him out.

    2. They say when God closes a door he opens a window. Maybe he closed a very small door on Raja but is about to open a very large window for him. Maybe Raja stands to gain more from being second rather than first.

    3. See it from Raja’s perspective. He is a 26 yo with a wife to support. His life must not have been easy in Bombay. No comparions, however his struggles must have approached Poonams for sure. Who knows if he had to go without money, job or even food. For him just getting to sing in front of the world is in itself a great opportunity to showcase his talents.
    If God wishes some very influential music directors and producers will have noticed him.

    4. Talking about legal action against Zee TV, is it really worth it? Will we be hurting Raja’s case by doing so??

    Suppose you had only a last wish left what would you wish. That Raja achieves pinnacle of success or that Aneek or Amanat or Poonam or whoever, does not achieve success.

    I would chose the former. That way my wish will be fulfilled.

    If I chose the latter, God will fulfill my wish and make anyone of those not successful, but really will that guarantee Raja’s success. No. Because I did not wish anything for Raja. You see how it works?

    5. So when Raja comes to NJ, no booing anyone else. No T-shirts mentioning rigging etc. No negatives. Only positives like Raja rules. Or Raja is the best. Ignore evry other name.

    6. We all live in this same world. So does Raja. Raja can only come as part of a singing troupe. Therefore by booing evryone else, we may not get to see Raja again. Let evryone else come. Let them sing. But make sure we keep asking for Raja’s performances.

    A word about the mentors. Himmy was overtly irritating. But I was puzzled by my dislike of ID. Last year ID was rooting for his own contestant but never really insulted Vineet or gave him low marks just because.
    This time he was with Raja till Mussarat was eliminated. Then he started criticing Raja even for good performances.
    Every mother likes her child the best. But we never should pull someone else’s child down. It is OK for him to praise Amanat or Poonam. But don’t find faults with Raja’s singing when none existed. Don’t insult him on stage in the hope that his fans would vote against him. This shows that you are not capable of being a fair judge and therefore don’t deserve the title of Guru. This shows that you are not honest with your own profession that is music.

    VS you guys rock. no doubt. However next time I want to see you rooting more for your own contestant. Even if idiots like Himmy says something, you are entitled to your own opinion and say that “Mujhe to tumhari performance bahoot acchi lagee. This is my opinion.”

    DoReMiFaSo, enjoyed your analysis of Raja’s love=devotional songs. I totally agree. In Teri Deewani, Mahiya, Saiyyan and Oopar Khooda, I felt the same. I felt Raja was directly addressing God. Thanks for sharing that.

    RHB your site about besharmiya has me dissloved into laughter evry time I visit it. You are funny and talented.

    So to sum it up folks
    1. we all like Raja.
    2. We all want to keep hearing him for ever and always

    Let our actions be such that they do not come in the way of Raja’s singing for that would be self destructive.

    Let us keep him out of scandals and disputes so that he can focus on his singing. And finally let us hope that the greatest godfather of all God himself is backing Raja.

Actually we Raja fans are lucky that Raja has mentors like you. God, what would we do if Himish was Raja’s mentor :( ? But just like what Shekar said to Raja: good things happen to good people. I am eagerly waiting for all Raja’s songs actually can’t wait :). I will definitely buy Raja’s all CD’s even if he has one song in it.

    I knew all along that Vishalji and Shekharji would not let Raja down, the class act that they both are is one reason why they are so successful in the music world. Their OSO has sky rocked in sales across the world and Canada for sure, the CD’S are sold out everywhere. We fans are also waiting for Raja’s version of the same.     I just finished reading what vishal and shehkar said, their statements were all inclusive not wanting to offend anyone ,but i disagree with one of their statements about raja and amanat, yes amanat might be well versed in the art of singing and i must say i hold no grudges against amanat i quite liked his singing specially yeh hosla and mitwa but i have to keep saying this again again for both amanat and aneek their voices are very ordinary there are thousands of aneeks and amanats in the sub continent and for vishal and shehkar to say raja needs work ,they probably are right but they should not be saying this if we criticise our own it opens the door to the rest of the world saying things and no one but no one has the quality the power and distinction that is in raja’s voice i really like vishal and shehkar but i wish they are as diplomatic with statements about raja as they are about the rest (uff that was long)

    I am in agreement with Music lover, I also feel that Raja has more personal difficulties which might not come out becoz of so many things, while his talent impresses me a lot I some keep thinking about these situations for Raja, so wish and hope that Raja doesnt have to live under poverty or any difficult situations and as a ardent fan wil pray for him..

    I will pray daily for 5 people, my daughter, my son, my daughter;s friend, my nephew and Raja..so all these people are important to me and I hope everything goes fine with all of them.

    I also agree with Mmao, I feel that Raja has the best voice and can express an emotion from the core of his heart which touches hearts of the people,more than anything the throw in his voice is superb and he connects with people while singing very well, VS support Raja a lot but it would be great if they can acknowledge this and say that Raja is the best..thats all.

    Same here in USA . Every person I talk to here, they said exactly same. THey all voted for RAJA. I have not met a single person who voted for Aneek. I did meet some people who voted for Amanat but not Aneek. Shame on Zee. In New York, entire city is waiting to see RAJA not that little champ kid (Aneek). The order should have been like this

    guggi/kanaka: I share the same feeling i am also about 34 year old with a kid i never felt like this for anyones voice before..i was not even following sa re ga ma.(no zee tv).only on 15th august i watched his performance on tv at my friends place..i fell in love with his voice that moment..came home and start browsing india forums for his post performance..since then never missed any of his performance..he does have some divine power in his voice..listen to piya hazi ali he sang it 10 time better than the original one same with naina tag lenege..mahi ve..mahiya..list is so long he makes all song his own. no comparision to originals..I hope he will go far in future..my best wishes are with him all the time
