Raja Hasan - ye dil ye pagal dil mera - Ghulam Ali
Today, it was a Raja Hasan we knew. And yet a Raja Hasan we didn’t know. We all knew he could justice to almost any composition. Yet we hadn’t heared a ghazal from him in the competition.
But Ghazals were always his forte, in his genes. He already has sung a ghazal for Khosla Ka Ghosla, which never got teleased. He has been belting out Ghazals every night for a living in a resort in the outskirts of Mumbai. Yet today for perhaps the most important ghazal in his life. In the presence of stalwarts like Jagjit Singh and Pandit Jasraj, when Raja Hasan, playing the harmonium, sang Ghulam Ali’s “ye dil ye pagal dil mera kyon bujh gaya aawargi“, it was almost like time stood still.
Every note mesmerised, every raag touched your heart. It was one of those performances, that I could hear again and again. And yet again.
Pandit Jasraj, usually a man of few words, was all praise - he did point out that Raja sang Ghulam Ali’s song with his own variations. Jagjit Singh found it difficult to contain his praise - he told Raja to keep singing “ONLY” ghazals from now on. So much for people who said Raja couldn’t sing softer numbers.
Himesh, was all praise, but added in lousy terms like mindblowing and outstanding, which looked totally out of place. Ismail appreciated the fact that Raja didn’t show any nerves singing in front of such stalwarts.
For me, I wish the competition was over. I don’t think we’ll see a better performance this season.

Stage is same as it was arranged during Qawwali round (when raja sang piya haji ali). all the judges are also sitting on sofa cum chair.

Amanat is next to perform, honestly aneek performance is cold today, his performance was visible on HR face, who was looking tensed.

2: Jagjit Singh # Your sur is very good, but voice is a little immature as you are quite young, by the way you sang very good as per your age.

I wish Raja would have said to the guest who said you should continue in ghazal that once he was doing it for living. He truely has struggled a lot, but he still has a positive approach to life, smiles and love and respect others.

i think finals will be with all these 3 contestants.
i think they will have to sing different songs every week till finals… they had ghazal, classical, party songs tomorrow .. maybe they will have regional one of the week and something else and finals finally.

For chaska i heard a little bit and have left the rest for the show but all i can say is wah wah but now i do not anyone to sound better than him and i will have butterflies in my stomach when i watch the show five more hours to go

Even though the sound quality of the video wasn’t good, the quality of Raja’s performance shone through to such an extent that I had tears in my eyes while listening. Beautiful, beautiful performance.

Jagjeet Singh # sang good, but you could have done better, as sur were a little bit shaky, practice on kharaj, as shekhar said ti aneek.
Pt. Jasraj # Very encouraging comments, (on remarks of jagjit singh) raja remain raja even if he goes a little bit out, everyone makes some mistakes, even we make mistakes and even at this age we have to do riyaz, but raja you put soem of the notes very very good. a true performance.
Himesh: first time he gave genuine comments, Raja , i will only say that put your best for another 13 -14 days, so that you will never regret that you missed something.all the best.

Vishal # you have improved too much on your low notes since you joined us and it is clear that you are doing hard work.

and plus the judges will give their opinion based on that days performance.. i feel the important thing is that people should feel the singing too…thats how u gain loyal fan base who will stay with u forever… like for raja, everytime he sings, u feel that in ur heart.
amanat is a very good singer no doubt about it but then u dont feel it in heart always only once in a while.
i dont remember exactly but there was one ghazal amanat had sung and that had made me cry just listening to him but the next week episode i saw amanat in yellow room and was dumb shocked … then later on i didnt see the same fabulous performance or feel in amanat’s singing.. he starting singing all the popular songs .. maybe thats what he had to do to make sure he stays in contest so that is alright… u know these days everytime i hear him sing or perform or dance on stage i go “oh so cute.” he makes me smile but then when i hear raja… i am just out of words for a long time and get involved in that song and later the words which come out of my mouth are “WOW!! totally MESMERISING!!” and i want to read more about raja, talk about raja, hear raja and vote for raja like crazy, and wanting to see Raja on TOP!! I guess that is the impact raja has on me with his singing.

Ghazal round - Raja all the way - numero uno. this is it folks - what we fans had been waiting for - spell binding - it still is just a preview of what he’s going to be capable of.
While I just loved Raja’s ‘jhanak jhanak’ - , I have to reluctantly admit that Amaanat’s semi classical performance had the edge.
Anyway, more and more in love with Raja’s voice and singing . I am speechless right now.

Wow such royalistic presence on the stage, Raja playing the harmonium like it was a second nature to him…..his gazal so enchanting that I think everyone there had stopped breathing just in case the air had stood still too, in the studio. So powerful was Raja’s performance of Ghulam Ali ji’s Ye Dil Ye Pagal Dil Mera that Jagjit Singh was thoroughly enjoyig it…..it felt like a very learned and experienced singer, who had been performing for decades, was singing. Very apparent from the way both the guest judges were enjoying it.
Anyone know why they had new stronger chairs on the show for the mentors and the judges? I do, so that guest judges could be comfortable and Vishalji and Shekharji would feel taller because Raja’s performence was going to be stronger than ever. The producers of the show perhaps knew that Himesh Besharmiya would fall off his chair….lol……and Esmail dumbbear would lean over to whisper sweet nothings in Himesh’s ear while the camera is on him, I mean whisper something (who cares what).
Jagit Singh says to Raja feel like swimming, I am sure today Raja was swimming amongst the sharks (Himesh and Ismail) and was doing so without any fear.
For Raja, you kicked some big time behinds and you looked smashingly handsome.
Do these kids know before the show who is going because even before aditya finished saying who was number one Raja was patting Aneek’s back
I am Rajas big fan But today I think Amanet and Aneek also performed very well. Public was saying onece more for Amanet Raja has to take lots of eforts. Today only he has got( mistakes in SUR )coment. which is not good. public jJADA CHOCHTI NAHI HAI. thats the problem ,Raja I think this a time put all your eforts and KAR DO SABKI CHUTTI. Right now Amanet is a DARK HORSE in the game so be careful and take some smart moves.WE R WITH YOU!!!!!!
Ghulam Ali should thank Raja for doing such a marvelous job i never liked this ghazal and ever since the show finished i have not stopped singing it fantastic fabulous all adjectives apply here God Bless Raja
all other fourms r saying that since both Amanet and Aneek r good in Sur everybody should vote for A&A Raja has to sing way too good then only he can change public opinion. Only devine voice will not work He should not make any mistakes Otherwise Everybody will say Raja is Raja only!!!!!! And TROPHY will go to somebody else. We r Raja’s saporters We should tell him where he is lacking to make him no.1 and this is a time. do not underestimate otheres. Because everyone is watching you all very carefully.

Don’t worry about the forum people. They are just a small fraction of voters pool. I stongly believe in commitment so If I am a Raja fan then I will remain one forever. Raja was excellent with the ghazal. Amanat voice suits ghazal so he got all the praise and now people are making such a big deal out of it. And plus Amanat was in bottom two so the guests were thinking that he might get eliminated so they give him all the praise. (Anyways, I am not a ghazal or classical songs fan so for me it really doesn’t matter if they can sing it or not. All what matter is that Raja can sing the type of songs that I like. so I will support him and vote for him coz he deserves it.)

So just keep voting! I already did some 300 voting today and I am done with one of my assignment that is due next week so I have got some time now and will vote for him. Im a little dissapointed that Raja got a bad sur comment. I hate the way people think we are all just votin for him blindly…they fail to realize that he has a great and genuine voice. I hope Raja blows away tmorrows show….i know he gets a shot In Farahs next film….I REALLY hope he wins…

Dear negina before i say anything i have to tell you i am a raja fan thru and thru and for me there is no other singer besides Raja but you have to give the devil its due we raja fans cannot be in the same league as mr raishmaiyya and have to be fair Amanat did a beautiful job to him ghazals are like mother’s milk he was raised on it and his whole family sings ghazals and are classical singers in Pakistan there are ghazal parties on the weekend so he did a fantastic job Raja also did equally well if they both sang exactly the same Raja would still be ahead because his voice has something in it that Amanat’s does not
