The Raja Hasan Preview: Amazing numbers this week!
Okay, I’ll quickly go into the details of Raja Hasan’s Saregamapa performances this weekend.
Friday is Ghazal and Classical singing round with two songs. Jagjit Singh and Pandit Jasraj will be the guests. The Ghazal would be “ye dil ye pagal dil mera kyon bujh gaya aawargi” from Ghulam Ali, as we already know. The second song is a Manna Dey classical song - Jhanak Jhanak Tori Baaje Payaliya from Mere Huzoor. Ab hoga doodh ka doodh, paani ka paani.
PSSt: Judges gave Raja a 1000 points!
On Saturday, Om Shanti Om descends - with director Farah Khan and actor Deepika Padukone. Raja first sings Sukhwinder’s “Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya” from Dil Se. And this will be followed by Dard-E-Disco from Om Shanti Om. Here are the a few versions of the songs:

No, I think HR and ID. HR usually blows with the wind - when Jagijit and Jasraj would aplluad Raja, HR really has nowhere to go - so he goes overboard. He must have shouted “10-100-1000 points”, like he usually does. Bottomline - excellent performance by Raja.
BTW, Chaiyya Chaiyya was choreographed by Farah Khan herself.
@Raja Fan, I think the saregamapa site has got Raja’s second song on friday wrong.
The two guests are exponents of Ghazal and Classical Singing. (They overlap a bit…) Aneek has two songs - one the Ghulam Ali ghazal. And the second - a classical based song by Manna Dey from Dil Hi to Hai. (Both are wonderful choices - let’s see if he can do the Manna Dey version - it is amongst the toughest Hindi songs to sing).
So naturally, Raja will not have two ghazals. One will be the Manna Dey number “Jhanak Jhanak Baje Tori Payaliya”
i thought raja is going to sing manna dey’s Jhanak Jhanak…. now sources say that he is going to sing Bichad ke bhi by ghulam ali
It can’t be two ghazals. One has to be a classical raaga based song.
Anyways, Aneek isn’t singing Dard-e-Disco. Unlikely that Amanat will be singing that too. So, it looks like Raja could be taking up this Sukhwinder song! (Not confirmed yet)
I haven’t yet heared the complete list of OSO songs. Tell me, is Dard-e-disco the biggest, best and the liveliest of all tracks in the movie?

Amanat seems to be suited for “Dastaan-e-om-Shanti-om”. So similar to the Karz song he sang last week!

hmm… this weekend will really show what the singers are worth… my take is raja will be the best as usual in ghazal and classical but i really need to see how aneek is going to perform… as he doesnt have any classical background and plus has been choosing some easy songs to sing.. our Raja is going to kick someone with his performance…. i am sooooooooooo happy

Can you imagine what a fabulous job raja will do of these songs the only problem is i cannot take HR and ID saying dekha hum ne tum se kaha tha and get in into his limelight
i’ve heard all OSO tracks, most of the songs are ok. there are a couple of romantic songs and stuff. But seriously, nothing comes close to dard-e-disco. If Raja sings that. he’ll rock it, man it’ll be sooo awesome. finally, raja is singing a song that is brand new and a hit already.

Yes, Darde Disco is the hotest song according to me. I think we are going to witness Vishal’s manch hilade promise. OMG, I am so excited, but I still have to wait to see if it is this song. Anyways, I just want him to sing very well whichever song he wants b/c for me anything Raja sings becomes supernatural. Thanks Rajahasanbacker for updating this site. Truely, reading about Raja, watching him and voting for him have become one of the most important priorities in my life.

What happened to Darde-disco? Man, they are gonna bring versatility thing again. I wanted darde-disco to shut some people’s mouth. Oh well, I am still hoping it is darde-disco. Ok, even if it is not it is fine by me as long as he wins. Plz forget about songs and continue voting vigorously. I am starting 1,2 and 3 here I go

I am thinking that Raja should sing one of HR’s high pitch songs. He will excel in it and will definitely shut HR up. I still remember Sharib singing one of HR song in SRGMP EMET. He got all praises from everybody and also got comments that his version of singing sounded better!

I am guessing that it is not Raja’s performance that prompted HR to say it. It has not happened yet! It is most likely the praise Raja must have received from Pt. Jasraj Ji, that HR had to respect. HR is nothing in front of Pt. Jasraj Ji. Pandit Jasraj Ji is one of the all time best North Indian Classical performer. If he happens to give higher marks to someone else than Raja (I doubt it though), I would have to change my opinion about who is the best contestant of the show.
Like RHBaker said in his column, this Friday “dudh ka dudh aur pani ka pani” ho jayega with Jagjit Singh and Pt. Jasraj Ji as judges and theme being Gazals and filmy classical songs.
Keep voting for RAJA.
