Raja Hasan’s performance of A.R.Rehman’s Ma Tujhe Salam was truly power packed. Everyone seemed moved - from Kapil Dev to mentors and even Himesh and Ismail. But really, the clearest indicator what an outstanding performance it was, came from the kids on the show - who simply went beserk. So loud were the cheers and […]

Manish joins in this week to give us a review on Friday’s happenings on Saregamapa. It is of course light-hearted stuff, so don’t take things too seriously.
Somebody grab Himesh, take off his cap, brush his locks away from his ears and scream loud to him – he is getting too repetitive. No, I am not […]

Here’s Raja Hasan’s 10th August performance of Let the Music Play (Nadiya Paar Sajan Da Thana) at Saregamapa. The song is by the Italian band Shamur - which has an Indian lead singer. The song is essentially a centuries old folk song, remixed by Shamur. Check out the video.

Just found a small clip showing Raja Hasan’s homecoming and welcome at Bikaner. It does get a bit out of hand - but then that is how we do treat our local heroes. Watch the short video here:

So, we have confirmed news on the Vande Materam version on this Saturday. Raja Hasan will be singing A.R.Rehman’s Maa Tujhe Salaam in a night where patriotism is the flavour.
From what I saw from the promos, Raja Hasan’s performance was easily the highlight of the show. A really power packed performance - complete with all […]

Well, I have heared complaints from many - specially parents - who tell children that watching excessive television might harm your eyes. But this one, is really strange and I haven’t yet found out what exactly is happening.
Go to google and search for “zee television“. Promptly google warns you about that the official site may harm […]

With Independence day round the corner, trust Zee Saregamapa to turn on the patriotic tap. Plus, a “patriotic” Kapil Dev on the show on Saturday - just to see the Indian Cricket League (ICL) piggyback on Saregamapa. Plus, neatly hidden little message: Kapil Dev is a lot more patriotic than the so called BCCI guys.
But, […]

A good friend of mine, DoReMiFaSo, has an interesting take on Raja Hasan’s Saturday night performance of Teri Deewani. Read on:
The complete Teri Deewani song by Raja Hasan appeared to be the coversation with Almighty though the original portrays a love story. At times I felt the original was a bit monotonous. But…
Raja, throughout the song just put […]

Excuse the title above as it might not be entirely appropriate. But a certain Dr.C.Vivek Lall has provided perhaps the most wonderful analysis of Raja Hasan’s singing – song by song. It came to me as a comment posted. But I thought this was too good a post to be tucked into a comment. Thank […]

Guest Blogger Sanjana Sinha from LA, California (and of course a huge Raja Hasan supporter) sends in her views on why you should be voting for Raja:
We all know that Raja has an incredible voice. Those of us who don’t KNOW him, but only have seen him perform on Saregampa, can obviously see that he […]

Vishal Dadlani pointed out that there is something divine about the voice. What he stopped short of saying was - it was the voice of God himself. Raja Hasan’s rendition of Teri Deewani was truely magical. It wasn’t just a Kailash Kher clone performance. He improvised. He used his own take. And breathed out a […]

Apologies for the goof up in the last post. Raja Hasan actually sang the song Awaarapan Banjarapan from the movie Jism. An excellent number, composed by M.M. Kreem. Sung by both Kay Kay and M.M. Kreem in different versions. Sayeed Quadri, incidentally won the Zee Cine Award for Best Lyricist for the song. Perhaps for […]

Tonight’s the night where things are happening at Saregamapa. In an episode which is themed on sad songs, Raja Hasan would be singing the Kailash Kher hit - Teri Deewani from the album Kailasa. Of course it promises to be yet another wonderful performance from Raja on saregama.
See the Kailash Kher version below:
Of course, the rumors were […]

Well there are been news coming in thick and fast that Mauli Dave has topped this week’s public voting. And Raja Hasan has slipped to the third position. Remember this is still unconfirmed news.
Surely, this news is a big disappointment and already there is a lot of talk all around about manipulation by Zee.
I would […]
