If a performance could make Bappi Lahiri move out of his chair and walk up and hug the singer, it would mean one hell of a singing Talent. When Raja Hasan cast his spell with on saregamapa with A.R.Rehman’s Piya Haji Ali from Fiza, praises came from all quarters.  It was a saturday night special that we are now well used to.

    Raja was great today. I think he was second only to Mussarat, but that’s because Mussarat is far ahead of anyone in the Qawali type of singing.

    Raja pls pls pls rehearse your songs as you did with Naine Tag and Kache dhage and Allah ke Bande…those songs stands apart so far from you. All other performance were either average or you had some mistakes ( as in Piya Re and on that Punjabi song u forgot lines) You made those songs unforgettable because you rehearsed well and sung beautifully pls rehearse and spend lesser time in social life till u reached u and mine dream which is you win this competition and become a great singer

    And as I have pointed out earlier, Raja is facing problems in high notes or sometimes during the transition from high note to lower note. In this regard, Amanat and Aneek are good. So, I think need to work on it.
    I just want to see RAJA win the challenge.

    The way he sang the Haji Ali song, I really, really don’t have any words to explain.

    Since the time I watched him singing this song in the SRGMP show, I’ve become damn confused if A. R. Rahman sang it well or Raja Hasan. That almost explains my situation.

    raja has dis habit of modifying certain parts of a composition (he has done that before as well)…..and wenever any tune is modified frm original it doesnt hav a pleasing effect 2 the ears…….modifying original tune and making it sound better than the original is something really difficult and shud b given credit and raja scores 100% in dis field……yes in the song (4:10 til 3:50 as u’v mentioned) he has slightly swerved a bit frm the original and his voice is slightly strained there…….but pls remember 1stly its a very very tough song and secondly the original was sung by MANY singers and not just rehman………and here it was sung by him alone!!!!!

    Thanks for your response. As you pointed out its a tough song to sing in solo…but I also noticed in Vande matharam and Piya Haji Ali as he is ending some lines abruptly where it supposed end smoothly.. May be he changed the notes, but in those occassions it did not sounded well… I am sure he is capable of singing it smoothly, but it raises questions to those who donno this “changing notes by Singer”

    So I will ask Raja to be more carefull when ending t he lines abruptly..
