The politics of SareGaMaPa - the Zee TV manipulation
For those who believe Zee TV’s Saregamapa is a honest show, forget it. It simply isn’t. It is sheer manipulation of figures to ensure that it maximises revenue.
KBC had appointed independent process auditors - KPMG, who looked that there wasn’t any rules that were flouted. They kept a check to ensure that phone callers selected were truely randomly picked.
Contrast that with Saregamapa, where they do not even disclose the number of votes each candidate has got. Okay, if you find it cumbersome to announce it every week, why don’t you post it on your website? With millions in moolah coming in every week, can’t you employ a person who can do a cut-paste job and update your lousy website?
The only reason why Zee TV does not disclose voting figures is because they want to manipulate these results. The fact that Apurva was voted out ahead of Mauli, raises these very precise suspicions. Mauli brought in the TRP ratings and it would have been a disaster for Zee if she went out early.
Saregamapa is a manipulated show. Surely. Why else would they use Aditya Narayan’s comments as a proxy? Just because - Himesh was simply not present during the shoot - he was away promoting his Aap ka Suroor. If this isn’t manipulation what is?
The format of the game is such that if all participants of a gharana are voted out, so do the mentors. That means in the finals, two mentors will not be seen in the studios. And that would be disaster if Himesh and Ismail are thrown out.
That is precisely why, we have been seeing a spurt in Aneek Dhar antics. Somehow, somebody has to give serious competition to Raja Hasan. And that is why Himesh created that Dia Mirza proposal stunt. The Salman Khan-Aneek Dhar shirt removing incident wasn’t a spontaneous one. It was predecided between Salman, Himesh, and the producers that Aneek would do the stripping act. Aneek badly needs some publicity for Zee TV.
Himesh and Ismail are already concerned that Vishal-shekhar are garnering the popularity vote. But that has to do with two things - one their compositions are peppy numbers that relate to the the urbane young. And two, they have Raja Hasan in their folds who appeals to everyone.
So why is Aneek Dhar getting so much of attention from the ZEE producers. Because an India vs. Pakistan final simply isn’t going to bring in SMS votes. People from Pakistan are not going to vote through SMSes for Amanat Ali or Mussarat. They can only vote online - which brings in no revenue. So the best thing that can happen is a Aneek vs. Raja final. Aneek would have a passionate West Bengal sending in SMSes in tonnes. While, Bikaner is never shy of SMSes (Remember Sandeep Acharya of Indian Idol?)
In the coming days, you’ll se all kinds of antics thrust upon Aneek (who, is a wonderful singer, BTW), just to ensure he isn’t lost as a face in the crowd.
But then, the the Zee idiots at least can present every week’s voting stats on their website.

The ZEE TV Videography guys just do not know when to show whom on Television. While the centre of attraction is the singer, they keep showing the family members of participants, heros, heroines, gharana gurus and their reactions. When the singer is singing, the concentration/focus should be on the singer. If they intend to show the reactions of the heros and heroines, they could have a small box which focuses on the signer simulataneously. The way it is now, when a batsman hits a six, the concentration is not on how the batsman executed the sixer but the focus is on the claps of the spectators!
I take lot of videos for such musical concerts and with my experience, I can tell you Zee TV crew is found wanting in the coverage.
Raja Hasan should win, thats it. No matter what. I think he is the best singer,.

People of West Bengal do not “passionately” vote for bengalis only unlike people of Bikaneer(e.g. Sandeep Acharya). Please do not make this comment without proper proof.
Even if you are right how many contestants the bengalis will “passionately” vote for?
We have Aneek, Joy and Nirupoma in SA re ga ma pa. We have EMON, Amit and Pooja in Indian idol.
We only vote for talent and we always appreciate and love talentedmusicians.
Ask any noted musician and he/she will agree with me.
Please, just to promote Raja do not malign others.

Get a life. And get some reading glasses. Nowhere in the post has there been ridiculing or mudslinging of any singer, including Aneek Dhar. Nobody, including me has any complaints against Aneek. I think he is amazing. My problem is what Zee producers and Himesh are making him to do. He already is a playback singer - and has been involved in Metro’s outstanding tracks. So why should he be put to such nonsense on stage?
You talk about passion? This site is about passion for Raja. If you don’t lke it, keep away. Who are you to tell me “just promote Raja”?

We Bengalis do not have to bothered about sour grapes. If you have any intelligence then you should know that there were and are enough bengali noted musicians.
I think you should get a life. Like millions of Bengalis I also love Raja’s singing. But that does not mean that others are bad. It also does not mean, that if an extra footage is shown for another contestant, the show is manipulated.

Aneek is not a good singer, so, he needs publicity in other ways.

I have few questions regarding the auditions .It was annouced that audtions are held all over india .is andhra pradesh not in India. why were the audtions not held in A.P? When a very talented guy like Hema Chandra rocked the show in 2005.whatz the problem?

Really Sa.re.ga is rocking and i think among all the similar shows, shown at other channels, its class apart. What i like, just two or three thing astonishing about this show. Foremost among the co-ordination among the judges and their willingness to not thrust themselves upon the show itself. They never try to hog limelight like other judges and sharing a great bond altogether. secondly, Mauli and Raja both have take my heart out and particularly she is adding a charm with her non traditional way of singing. Raja along with Dubai dude is hot contender.

Finally i found people on this website who are smart
enough to figure all this out for a while i thought i was
the only one who felt SAREGAMAPA show was bogus
when it came to fairness to the deserving contestants.
It is all about MONEY & not about finding a talent. I feel the same way that Mauli should have been kicked out long time ago the only song she can sing is the first one & since then she has been pused further by
the Zee T.V., & Saregamapa staff. I wrote several e-mails to the Zee t.v. & Saregamapa websites no wonder they didn’t respond, b-cuz they would have to admit what type of frauds they are doing with the show. I was very unhappy b-cuz i felt bad for those poor contestants who got kicked out unfairly. The Zee t.v. should be held liable for their wrong doings they have no right to play with contestants lives, & publics intelligence & all for the sake of money !!! I pray for the contestants they will need strength to get them throgh life not thinking they were a failure. The worst thing about all this is not everyone knows about what king of game these people are playing & that they can’t be stopped. I wish there was something more i could do to bring this propaganda into publics eyes.

I hate Regional nonsense , candidates asking in their home languages to get votes , i think it’s just wrong — they should strictly stick to hindi and not mention any particular part of india to ask for votes - it;s music , same in gujarat as bangal ….

Not sure if you still check your blogs….. well someday you will…. Must say you have a great voice…. I was there at the ajman studio one of the days u were hosting the sa re ga ma pa…. I took part at the auditions however did not make through,however they had liked my performace and called me over for some show which was called “mera fan” or something like that. SO I came over for it and it was when I saw you…..
dissapointed about the fact I was not among the contestants I left :-)…. well Inshalla Next year I will try harder and see if I can make it to the next level….
